Tumblebooks, Raz-Kids & Prodigy

Below are some helpful websites to continue to with learning from home! TumbleBooks  All CBE students have access to a paid subscription of over 1100 TumbleBook Library (K-6) resources through the Calgary Public Library. Users can access the resources from just about anywhere. Parents received a system message about Interim K-9 resources and activities to engage children in, for the time  prior  to the scheduled spring break. You can access the resources   here . These activities are easy to do at home using common materials and are engaging for students and families.  We also suggest home reading and home journal writing. Last Day of Book Clubs

Today was the last day for book clubs. Students created 6 different mini projects based on their books. If your child did not complete these, they will be bringing it home for homework. Today we also had our science test for the Waste and Our world tomorrow. Next week we will shift into learning about Ukraine in Social Studies. Tomorrow students will have a substitute teacher. Health

Today the grade 4s who are participating in Human Sexuality started their first class today. There will be a total of 5 30 min classes. During this time the grade 3 and 4 students who are not participating are learning about various body systems such as the skeletal and muscular systems. In Science we did an experiment where students made predictions about what will happen to apple slices that are untouched vs. touched when they are stored in a Ziploc bag for a number of days. In PE, the students will be focusing on playing some curling matches throughout the week. On Wednesday, Scientist in the School is coming for a morning in-school field trip. We will be learning more about the environment, waste and composting. On Thursday, students will have a Waste and Our World test where they will be asked what three methods of waste disposal are in Calgary. They will also be asked what items are in these waste bins, and how they work. On March 17th there will be Coco Brooks Fun Lunch. On March 18th there will be our Jersey Day spirit day. ♡Ms. Rothe and Room 9 Students

Wear Black Pants Tonight

Today we did a tech rehearsal. A tech rehearsal is when we practice with the lights, costumes and the music. Starting on Monday we are eating in the classroom for lunch, a school messenger will be going home with more information. Today in math, we did a twenty problems about time. The Trickster show is tonight! Students are in show B and are expected to be here for the 7:15 performance. There are no reserved seats - please come earlier if you would like a seat close to the stage. Please drop off your child in the classroom and make sure they use the wash room before coming. STUDENTS MUST BE WEARING BLACK PANTS FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE AND A TSHIRT OR LONG SLEEVE. PLEASE NO BULKY SWEATERS. Students are continuing to work on developing their play that they will be presenting on Thursday evening. Trickster Artist in Residence – Evening Performance Thurs, March 5 The ticket order form for the evening performances on Thursday, March 5 needed to be returned to the school today. If you forgot, send the order form in asap; we need to draw for   extra   tickets. Today, your child will be bringing home the tickets you requested. Please check their backpacks. Keep your tickets in a safe place (a magnet on the fridge?). You NEED to present the tickets at the door to get into the show! If you have any questions call the school at 403-777-6670.
